I had biopsies taken last Thursday. 

I have extreme health anxiety. 

I'm so frightened of the result too.

I was really hoping I'd hear by 2 weeks. 3 weeks

plus, to keep people waiting, is just rediculous in my opinion!

I can't understand why it's taking so long.

My mind is in exactly the same places.

I've had abnormal smears before.

But I'm waiting for the mirena to be removed by GA as apparently it's stuck.  And I had an awful time on insertion. 

3 weeks ago I went to the hospital for abnormal bleeding, apparently I've just finished the menopause.

Anyway they tried to remove then but omg the pain.

So was told to come back ,went Thursday the consultant said we'll do a colposcopy but I don't think I'll have to take biopsies,  but he did! Now I can't concentrate on  anything

Well it's been over  four weeks now and I phoned today to chase it up. No letter has been written yet. So I asked the secretary will it be another few weeks before I get a letter then? She said she didn't know. My results have been sat with the consultant for two weeks. It's absolutely cruel not to inform people on thier results for this long, it's disgusting.

Omg are you serious?

Saying that the consultant did tell me it would be around 3-4 weeks. He gave no clue if it looked ok. 

I'm trying not to worry but I'm struggling. 

It's the old thing,  you want to know but you don't.

If its any consolation I was told afterwards that nothing nasty had been seen and it was true when I got my letter through ,although I agree its still a worry until you get it in writing ,

Have you had your letter now? hopefully good news. It took just over 4 weeks for my letter last July. Result from my MDT meeting was a rescan for cysts on ovaries and a repeat hysteroscopy/biopsy, both after 6 months, nothing suspicious found but polyps/fibroids. I had the biopsy last week when the polyps/fibroids were finally removed and was told I would be contacted if needed once the results come back from histology, otherwise they would just see me again for another biopsy in 6 months. So this time I'm not waiting on a letter and just hoping for no news!!  

Hi I still haven't had a letter after six weeks but I did phone the secretary again. She told me over the phone my biopsy was fine. Would have been nice to be told sooner- would have saved 5 weeks of worry xx

Hi, Just because you have waited so long absolutely doesn't mean it's bad news, nor good news for that matter. I was told my results would be in two weeks and I was told 2 days later. I would say its time to make a call though and ask, the waiting is awful so I send my best wishes for a good result very soon x

I'm just to frightened to ring.

I'm a 57 year old with awful anxiety and health anxiety. 

I hate it , it's debilitating. 

I've had cbt. I've had counselling but really nothing helps. I hate being like this.
