Bit scared

Hi all, I'm 45 and have been experiencing bleeding every day , pelvic pain and on and off diarrohea since 4th Jan this year with 1 stone weight loss( without trying). I have been tried on 2 antibiotics, txa, provera and northisterone but the bleeding hasnt stopped. To be fair it eased a little bit but I cane out in hives all over with northisterone so had to stop it and since then I've bled heavier. Last year I tried hrt but had a severe anaphylactic reaction so am awaiting allergy testing ( likely december this year)to see which hormone I'm sensitive too, I suspect progesterone but gp thinks estrogen. I haven't been able to tolerate coil, pill, implant without extreme anxiety and hives etc.

Bloods are normal as is ultrasound.

Anyway I am due to have a hysteroscopy in 3 weeks but am getting a bit scared now that this isn't just menopause. Has anyone else been through this?

  • Hello Bevd,

I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms and how they affect you. When you’re worried that you may have cancer, it can be natural to think the worst but it can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. There is some information and advice on hysteroscopies here, which I hope will help you feel more prepared. If you have any concerns or questions, your doctor will be the best person to address them and there's some tips here that can help with coping while you wait for your appointment and results. I hope the test in three weeks goes ok.

    Best wishes,
