Lymphoma diagnosis

Hi, has anyone been diagnosed with lymphoma despite ultrasound showing normal sized lymph nodes? They're clearly swollen but the ultrasound tech said they were normal in size.

thank you

  • Hello Alexa11223344,

Unfortunately we cannot answer you questions, but don't be afraid to ask your doctor as they'll be the best person to advise. Hopefully they can help to get to the bottom of it.

When you’re worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers on an online, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.

    I hope this is helpful,

  • I went for my ultrasound last month and was told my lymph nodes were within normal range as they don't normally biopsy anything under 1cm my largest was 0.8cm but because I had multiple nodes that were enlarged they did the biopsy anyway. I found out today that I have Hodgkin lymphoma. So yes I would say it is possible even with nodes within normal range.

  • Thank you so much for getting back to me [@Jolene91]‍ . First of all I'm sorry about the diagnosis and i wish you the best recovery possible. I have been experiencing alarming symptoms and my dr's won't take me seriously because my lymph nodes ultrasound results are within normal range. I'm going to push harder now for a biopsy so thank you for re assuring me.
