When should I chase up my next mammogram appt? I'm in Wales

I found a lump in my left breast nearly 3 weeks ago. Went to the GP 2 weeks ago today who referred me to breast clinic. I had a call the next day for a mammogram appointment. Had mammogram a week ago yesterday. No other appointments received. I'm really anxious and worried and trying to stay positive. Health board information says lots of different things. Pathway says I should be seen in 2 weeks, information about breast clinic says mammogram will be a few days before clinic appointment and on the letter confirming mammogram appointment it's says results in 1 - 6 weeks. I'm. In Wales, ABUHB health board. When should I chase up next appointment.

    Sam I am sure they will be in touch. For me I heard by phone to be seen at surgeons clinic 3 days after mammogram. I then had a ultrasound scan & biopsy spoke with surgeon & was told it looked suspicious. Following 2 weeks spoke about hormone inhibitor ( tablets) for 5 years & type of surgery,while still waiting for all results. If you have not been contacted then it might be a good sign. If still worried speak with your GP. Who will get notified by email. Keep calm, positive vibes.

    A very warm welcome to our forum.

    It is difficult to predict when you will be seen, as waiting times vary throughout the country. If you still haven't heard anything in another week, why not phone your consultant's secretary? She will be in the best position to know whether or not you have been put in the diary yet. If not, she should be able to tell you how long it is taking for the results to come back at present. 

    I do hope that you hear something soon.
