Fibroadenoma worries

Hello,

so not sure why I am posting really? Just don't want to really speak to anyone and cause a fuss if it's nothing to worry about.
I found a lump maybe a year and a half  ago but when I went to the doctors they just mentioned cyst and to come back if it changes.
Fast forward to now and I went back as it had grown from 1cm to about 5/6cm and it's positioned at the top of my breast and it can be seen through my clothes so I originally went to see about getting it removed.
they referred me to the breast clinic and it turns out I have two of them.
They did a biopsy, this was on the Thursday (2nd) then on the Tuesday I got a text confirming a telephone appointment for the 17th (same month) so presumed all well and just a routine app but today I got a call asking for me to come in on Monday for a face to face and now I can't help but over think?
They said at my appointment I'd get a call with the results and be called back in for a follow up as due to its size if it is a Fibroadenoma as suspected I want it removing. I just can't help but over think now.

around the same time I had got my lump I had abnormal cells removed from my cervix and I was grade 3 with that so I can't help but think the worst.

Do they always ask you to come in for a face to face no matter the result?

  • Hi Hols32nicole,

I know it's difficult, but try not to think the worst if you can. I know that's much easier said than done but I hope it helps to know that many of our members have had their appointments changed from a telephone call to a face to face appointment so you are not alone, and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer you their support and advice.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to, and will do all they can to put your mind at ease about your appointment.

I know the next 24-48 hours will be tough, but we're thinking of you Hols32nicole and wishing you all the best for Monday.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
