Armpit Pain

I'm 35 and do self checks all the time.
I have had this pain in my right armpit for a while that comes and goes. I can't feel any lumps or bumps and have been to the doctors to get checked and she said all felt fine and sent me on my way but the pain is still there. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence that I've had this since I got covid but as I am sure it would anyone it's making me anxious. Nothing feels swollen either. I will go for a second check but I did feel like I was wasting the doctors time before.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Taylor although I'm sorry to hear about the pain you've been having in your armpit.

I know you came away from your last appointment feeling like you wasted your doctor's time but please be assured that you are doing the right thing by going back as it's always best to get any persistent symptoms checked out, if only for peace of mind.

Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to offer their reassurances and advice but in the meantime, we'll have our fingers crossed your next appointment goes well and that the armpit pain isn't any cause for concern.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Taylor,

I am sorry to hear that you still have the pain in your armpit. It is unusual to have pain associated with breast cancer, but you are just as well to get it checked again. I know that you were not too happy with your GP's check last time. Could you perhaps see another doctor in the practice? This would give you a second opinion and you might find it more reassuring.

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
