Hi all I'm 34 year old female. 3 weeks ago I felt like I had a spot on my back that needed squeezing a sore sort of feeling when a spot is brewing. Asked my partner to do this and was told the skin around my mole looked sore and inflamed. This mole has been there for atleast 8 years or so. Not big under 5mm not irregular shaped but dark brown (not quite black) anyway saw GP same day who sent me to teledermatology for images to be taken which was 2 weeks ago. Now I have face to face with dermatology this week and I'm terrified. The redness around skin and soreness has gone completely. It only lasted about 3 days but my mole is left with some sort of small slightly red looking bump which I can only explain is on the side of it but part of the mole. It feels like there is a bump under it. The dark brown mole itself is actually the same in that its still looking pretty round/oval and looks one colour but I'm so worried about the little reddish bump the has formed on side of it. No itching or bleeding atall. I'm scared it's always been a melanoma and now it's late stage. I've also developed a horrible cold and chesty cough in this time so I'm worried it's all linked. I've had to be signed off work with stress and anxiety. Prior to 3 weeks ago all seemed normal I hadn't noticed any changes atall. I often notice my back maybe once a month when I catch a glimpse getting out the shower so this change is fast which is what's worrying me massively. Are all sudden changes melanoma? Please help. Everyone seems to say on forums fast change is the worst. It hasn't changed again in the last 1-2 weeks but still so worried about inital fast change. I can't seem to find a post with a change similar to mine x
