Persistent Headaches

Good evening, looking for some advice.

For the last two months I have been experiencing persistent headaches on the right side/back of my head, continuously from the same spot.

The headaches aren't severe, however, never seem to go away and are constantly radiating from the one area (the right side at the back).

This has had me worrying, I have been to the doctor who gave me antibiotics for an ear infection and medication for anxiety, however, I have finished my antibiotics and the headache still persists. I have also been feeling dizzy however my doctor said this could be due to anxiety. As well as this I feel my vision has been off, seeing dots/flashes of light however my optician said my eye test was perfect and it could possibly be migraines.

However, I feel it is not migraines as the pain is always there as well as it being the back of my head. I need to meet again with my doctor in four weeks however until then I can't seem to stop looking up my symptoms.

This is really effecting my everyday life as it's all I think about.

  • Hi there.

I just wanted to say your not alone and I'm going through the same myself. Head pains and nausea mostly for past few months. Keep the head up and keep in touch.

  • back of head ache and pain is usually stress and anxiety related

  • Hi there. I have been suffering from right side headache for the last 2 years and I never used to get headaches before. First time when it came on it lasted for 3 months. Then it goes away for a few months and then comes back. It does also starts mostly from one spot but spreads to the whole right side. It's not a bad headache but can get bad. I also often wake up with headache. I also get dizzy when I have it. It sounds very similar to your headache and I was super worried at first and thought I had something sinister. I also heard a pulse in my right ear which frightened me even more. I have private insurance and finally got an mri scan because of the pulse in the ear and nothing untold was found. The pulse is unrelated to the headache I was told. Since nothing showed up I guess its nothing sinister and just hormonal or seasonal. It's like a weird kind of migraine except that it's not a very strong pain like you would think migraine would be. So as frightening as it might be for you but its likely just one of those things. I don't know how old you are but in my case I really think it might have to do with perimenopause because that's the only thing that has changed. I never used to get headaches all my life. Guess you should still get checked out but there are many many reasons for sudden onset of headaches which are nothing sinister
