Awaiting 2 week referral and petrified

So, all this started back in November when I noticed some pelvic pain on right side along with some bloating and stomach discomfort. Visited GP who wasn't concerned. It got worse over December so I returned early January to follow up. At that point my GP told me to book in for bloods and she would request a non urgent scan for me. I had to wait 4 weeks for my bloods appointment which happened last week. Day after my bloods I had a call from GP all in a panic saying my ca125 came back at 78 and due to family history of breast cancer I was being referred on the 2 week pathway for gynecology. TThe pelvic pain is really bad at this point, I can barely eat (perhaps impacted by anxiety) and lower back pain is awful. Of course Google just brings me to bad news, I've hunted this forum and I know people have had various experiences. But I just wanted to post myself to see if anyone else is going through the same thing at the minute. I'm so frustrated that it took so long to be referred urgently, feel like things have gotten much worse since then and my life is now on hold pending bad news

  • Argh, since I learned my bloods are raised my symptoms have gotten ten times.worse. the heartburn never leaves, the back pain is hideous, I cannot stomach a bit of food. Can this be anxiety, or just coincidence? Really struggling with anxiety, it's taking over my life

  • No one has responded to my post. But as I've searched high and low.for.other stories on this forum I figure I'll keep mine updated in case anyone needs it in the future. So I have my 2 week referel appointment through now for next Thursday so just over a week to wait. Living in sheer anxious torture, not eating, barely sleeping, just about surviving. So for anyone else out there going through a similar thing, I'm with you

  • I was referred for irregular/continuous bleeding on the 2 week pathway back at the end of June. I was getting some pain. bloating and stomach discomfort also. It would appear that I have benign cysts and  fibroids/polyps. My CA125 was normal, however it can be raised for a number of completely benign conditions and depends also on stage of your cycle if you are pre menopause. I totally idenfify with you with the anxiety at this time. I would say it definitely can make you feel worse - certainly with the indigestion/heartburn/lack of sleep and appetite - those things all eased up considerably for me once I had my results. I wish you all the best

  • Hope your ok and best wishes x

  • I went through the referral for bloating, abdomen pain ect . I had a colonoscopy which found unexpected complex ovarian cysts. There was then the two week wait for gynaecology oncology appointment. I had my complex cysts removed 8 weeks later surgery took hours due to extensive adhesions  Fortunately my  oncology surgeon stuck with the adhesions and removed all she could other surgeons would have bailed out and left them. The pain has not settled so well worth the operation. The cysts can be precancerous lm over 65
After a nervous 5 weeks l was told that the multiple biopsies were benign

  • An update. I have just had a scan on my pelvis (not from my 2 week referral, this one was the non urgent one booked 2 months ago)

Scanner found no unusual lumps, bumps or growths so that's good news. She said there was some.free fluid around mu right ovary and the space behind it which may need investigating but that will happen at my gyno appointment next week. So I'm happy that no obvious growths but still a little concerned about the fluid thing. Has anyone had experience of free fluid in pelvis without signs of a cyst or growth?
