Post menopausal bleeding

Hi there, I would be interested to hear from anyone who has experienced pm bleeding - its been over 10 years since I went through the menopause and was happy about no more periods! Then last week I noticed spotting, the next day bleeding, and since then its been a heavy period like bleed every day. Now on the 8th day and using 7+ nightime pads a day.... I am waiting to hear from the hospital about a fast referral but the bleeding is definately getting heavier.... why would it not stop? Any thoughts or similar experiences might be helpful - thank you!!

    Hello Rogersmum and a big welcome to Cancer Chat, 

    I hope that you will hear from others here who have experienced post menopausal bleeding and that they will share their experience with you. It can be a bit distressing when you see blood you didn't expect to see and you did well to flag this with your GP especially if you've been having a heavy period like bleed every day. 

    It does sound like this needs to be looked at sooner rather than later and if you haven't heard back from the hospital very soon, perhaps it might be worth ringing your GP again tomorrow just to try and find out more about this urgent referral. Do explain that it is getting heavier every day and that you are very worried. You could also try ringing 111 out of hours if you want to talk to someone over the weekend about this. 

    I hope that this gets looked into properly very soon and that you find out  what has been causing this bleeding.

    Hello.

    Apparently I have finished the menopause..

    But I'm having abnormal bleeding too.

    The coil has got to come out via GA.

    I had a hospital 3 weeks ago but this Thursday I'm having a colposcopy.  He wants to look closer at the cervix. 

    I'm really worried about what could be causing this.
