I have previously had a similar experience to yourself after having a hysteroscopy for 'on and off bleeding'. I am 54 and post menopausal with a 'bulky uterus' nobody has ever told me what size my uterus is?! only that I had a polyp that needed to be removed via hysteroscopy, which turned out to be benign after being tested, thankfully.  That was done a year ago and I can remember whilst 'coming round' after aneathesia the consultant shouting 'everything looks fine.'!  I also remember thinking at the time, the same as yourself, and wouldn't it be better to wait and see what the tests say first!  I still suffer with a 'bulky uterus' and I'm in pain daily with it.  So much for 'everything looks fine'!  I have now decided to go private.

Hi my story is a little different to yours I'm in my mid

30s but have been having irregular bleeding for the last 2.5 years. 
 

they finally did a hysteroscopy last week to try and figure out anything that could cause the bleeding. They also did a biopsy and fitted a mirena coil.

When I woke from the anasthetic the doctor came and said all Appeared normal but they took a d&c biopsy.

they said I will get a letter in a few weeks.

I am so nervous xx

Really hope you get some answers. Will be keeping fingers crossed the coil helps to regulate your monthlies. The waiting is one of the hardest parts isn't it. 

I dont think I can relax until i get my results.

I was referred last June after irregular bleeding and sent for an ultrasound and hysteroscopy. They took place  on the same day. At the ultrasound I was told womb lining just less than yours and multiple polyps but they also saw an adnexal mass. Hysteroscopy followed same day - I was told normal procedure would be to remove the polpys and fit the coil. In the event she said it was not possible to remove the polyps there and then but she did womb biopsies. She was evasive on why the polyps could not be removed and started talking about the need for further tests  My womb biopsy came back as normal but to be repeated in 6 months when then fibroids/polyps will be removed. I have a date this month for this procedure, postponed from December.

As I said, in my case the also found 'an adnexal mass' which meant I was also sent for CT, MRI and blood tests and consequently I was told I had multiple ovarian cysts of about 2cm each and one at 5.5 cm and fibroids. They said my womb was bulky - think that is due to fibroids? Again, I was put on 6 months wait and rescan. After 6 months only the large cyst remained (unchanged) and I will be scanned again in another 6 months with an appointment  to discuss 'cyst management'

I still do not actually know if I have polyps in the womb  or fibroids (CT/MRI letters had no mention of polyps) Both are usually benign but they will always test them after removal as standard procedure. I am just hoping the procdure goes ahead this time

Stay strong and try to keep yourself busy and keep your mind off the 'what iffs' - the waiting is the hardest part 

I still haven't heard 2.5 weeks since I've had the hysteroscopy. So anxious x

Sorry to hear you're still waiting. Fingers crossed you hear soon. I've not heard anything either. The chances are we will all be fine but the waiting is hard. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

How are you doing? Sounds like you have quite a few questions that they need to answer for you. What do they think is causing the cysts? Sending you lots of good luck wishes.

I've now had a myosure procedure to remove the polyps/fibroids from my womb and further biopsies done as well as a mirena coil fitted. The consultant said they would contact me if needed once the results are back from histology and otherwise they would see me again in 6 months for a follow-up hysteroscopy/biopsy.

Glad you've had your procedure now, how are you feeling? Do you feel reassured? My results came back just, saying all was fine. I have no idea why the womb lining was thick though as I've not heard from anyone, just had a letter confirming all was well - huge relief! Good luck with your results and let me know how you get on.
