Thyroid biopsy 2nd biopsy- protocol

Hi Kind Folks, I had a biopsy on my thyroid 10th Jan...

been chasing for results, received verbally today that nothing

abnormal, apt to see consultant 8th March, follow up biopsy

is protocol... I accepted this but am really surprised they have

booked another biopsy for next Tuesday is this normal (4 week gap?)

It's great to hear your biopsy results brought good news although I'm sorry for the worry your follow up biopsy is causing.

Hello, I had a thyroid biopsy in August which came back inconclusive so they repeated the biopsy in October. At my 2nd appointment the doctor said that even if my first biopsy had come back as benign, it's protocol for them to repeat the biopsy. I know different hospitals may do things differently but from my understanding a repeated biopsy following a benign result is completely normal.
