CT Results - does face-to-face usually mean bad news?

I have a few Gynae issues but nothing major. Two small cysts on ovaries, prolapsed bladder, slight bleeding. Out of the blue just before Xmas I had a phone call telling me I need a CT scan of my whole trunk, apparently my CA125 is high. Had the scan 18 days ago and I've just had a phone call to see my Consultant next Tuesday. I'm bricking it now. If there were no problems wouldn't I just have a phone call? Does a short notice appointment mean something is wrong? I'm trying to tell myself not to over analyse but anxiety overides common sense doesn't it?

PS I'm post-menopausal which is significant for the CA125 result.

  • I don't think either of those necessarily means anything. It's not unusual for them to scedule a face-to-face appointment regardless. I got an awful fright when an appointment that I was told would be a phone appointment was changed to face-to-face, but it was all clear.

And in this case, even if it's clear, they may want to discuss the high result or even test to see what else might be causing it or something and they would need to discuss that with you.
