Ct scan found nodules bottom of my lungs

Hi I'm 34 years old I had a ct scan on my lungs cause I keep getting colds and flus and when I had a x-ray first they told me I had a thickening of windpipe but nothing is their anymore so I had this ct scan and they told me that have modules in my lungs 0.5cm long and they have said it's benign on the report but I'm still being referred to respiratory and I'm not sure why and I'm so worried about it, I have chest pain and I think that's anxiety because of all this but I'm not sure about that either.
I'm going out my mind with worry! Help!

  • Hello Jodielouise

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health problems but it's good to hear that the tests you've had so far haven't given any immediate cause for concern.

It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about the referral. It may help to keep in mind that lung nodules are not uncommon and there can be many reasons other than cancer that they occur.

I wonder if you might find it helpful to have a chat with one of our nurses ahead of your appointment. I'm sure they'll be happy to give you some information, advice, and support which may help reassure you. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
