Mum has positive Fit test and Borderline Aneamic

I am so worried.

My mum has been referred for a CT scan and colonoscopy which has been booked for a matter of days due to a positive fit test and border line aneamia.

I am suffering with post natal depression and finding it really hard to cope. I've not slept in days and all the information I can find online points to advanced cancer.

Has anyone been aneamic and had a positive fit test with a better outlook.

Sorry to ask but I am seriously in bits, if I lost my mum I don't think I could go on xx

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Spursfan85.

I'm sorry to hear about that you're dealing with post-natal depression and now your mum has to go through a colonoscopy due to her FIT test's result and aneamia. It can't be easy to deal with all of this at once so I'm glad you decided to reach out to us.

Hopefully others who have encountered a similar situation will come along shorlty but until they do I want to mention that if you haven't done that yet, it might be a good idea to search for some counselling. There is a list of organisations on this page from our website in case you're interested. It's also important to remember to take one day at a time and be gentle on yourself. As for your mum's FIT test I found this other page with some general information that might help.

I hope all will turn out okay for you and your mum, Spursfan85. And please remember you're not alone, we're always here for when you need a chat.

    All the best,
