Anxiety

I have the BRCA1 gene.  Known this for over 20 years. Have regular  check ups on breasts and ovaries/ fallopian tubes.

Had op to remove milk ducts from right breast a few years ago, ductatasia and consulaltant says cells were " turning" .

Had offers of prophylactic surgery but never had the support for my child who has autism, to go through with op and recovery.  Ex was abusive Left a few years ago  but still no emotional or practical support.

All educatioal and social care council services for my now teen ,  were  pulled after lockdowns.

Genetics say I'm at  age ( 52) to consider options of surgery .

Have regular ovarian pain on left side and a large  fibroid found by gyaenecology and kissing ovaries that was missed 3 times on ultrasound as doctors only looked at left  ovary and said all was fine, just a cyst.

Yesterday 2 lumps were found near where I had previous surgery and my glands in neck were swollen.

Now awaiting MRI appt

Feeling very alone and isolated with no family ( lost mother and her sisters to breast and ovarian cancer) and all others too busy with running their business.

Where I stay it is clqiuey and I don't feel welcome as a single mum.

A bit of reassurance would be welcomed.

It sounds as if you've had a hard time . However, you are doing the right thing by getting checked out again. Have you any idea when your MRI results are due back? I sincerely hope that nothing untoward is found.

I haven't had the MRI scan yet. I didnt make the appt to get checked. The lumps were found by the nurse practioner standing in for the consultant who does my regular check ups, as she was off sick. This waiting for appts on the NHS, is hard. Since lockdowns, the regular appts are now 1 year behind.
