Would a gp tell you if they thought it was something bad?

Went to my gp on Monday with a large lump which suddenly appeared adjacent to my vagina, deep inside where muscle should be. Not a Bartholin cyst.  Gp has referred me for a scan.  Would they have said if they thought it was something sinister as 3 days later I've already got the appointment (this coming Wednesday) which has completely freaked me out - the speed with which it has come says that it is bad...

  • Hi Spirit123,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand the speed of the appointment is causing some concern, however it's good to hear you don't have long to wait. It's only through any necessary tests that any answers can be given, so opinions prior to this process aren't always helpful. You'll have an opportunity to ask more questions at your appointment on Wednesday, and I hope it goes OK.

We're always here for support on the forum if you need it.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hello,

im sorry to hear about this lump, how scary! I recently also found a lump and was referred VERY quickly too (scan tomorrow)

my doctor told me he didn't think it was anything serious, but he did refer me for an appointment at the hospital for the following week so I feel like maybe he is worried and hiding it

BUT..... each time my dad had a health problem (which turned out to be a serious illness) the doctor told him that they thought it was something serious
