Post menopausal bleeding

Hi all.

It is very comforting and supportive to read posts on here. I am 49 years old. Post menopausal. I have been since 37.

I have recently had a significant bleed, which lasted for almost three weeks. This happened once before. Three years ago. That was a polyp, which was easily removed.

This time i was on two week referral. I had my scan last Tuesday. Radiographer said that there was excess fluid in my womb, but she couldn't see any fribrooids or polyps and to call GP in two weeks for results. Then last Thursday I had numerous calls from the hospital (which I missed as I was at work) and a text message asking me to call for an URGENT appointment. I am booked in for a hysteroscopy and biopsy this Thursday Jan 19th.i had asked about the thickness of the womb at the scan but the radiographer dodged the question.

I am just feeling apprehensive. Anyone else had excess fluid in the womb post menopause?

Thanks for reading.

  • Hi Rollergirl and welcome to the forum.

I'm really glad the posts you've come across have offered some reassurance and comfort to you at this anxious time but hopefully some of our members who have contended with excess fluid on the womb post menopause will be along soon to share their experiences and advice.

If you've like to discuss any of this with one of our nurses whilst you wait, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m but in the meantime, we're thinking of you Rollergirl and wishing you all the best with your hysteroscopy and biopsy on Thursday.

    Kind regards,
