Thick womb layer

Hi

I'm probably worrying bout nothing, however I'm 55, been thru menopause approximately 2 years,

recently bleeding bad cramping etc

had scan s, showed layer 8.5 thick, got hystoscopy next week. Worried, cos I'm so exhausted and look really pasty and tired.Any thoughts experiences would be very welcome .

  • Hi Daffodil23, really sorry to hear you're going through this. Has the GP done any bloods to check for anaemia? It's quite common when you're bleeding heavily and could cause you to be tired and pale.

I know how difficult the waiting for results is, I'm 41 and have been bleeding excessively since June last year, had a scan and they found my endometrial lining was thickened at 17mm (it varies depending on whether you've been through the menopause or not and at what stage of your menstrual cycle you're in). Now waiting to see a gynaecologist but as I live in Portugal I can't get to see one till end of February (4 months after my GP referred me on a urgent referral ). I really hope they can get to the bottom of it for you and if you are anaemic get you started in iron tablets.
