Awaiting breast Biopsy results.

Hello.

New here and don't  know where to start! I was referred to breast clinic in September due to inverted nipple and redness on nipple. They just scanned that area and said all fine.

Well in mid November I noticeced a hardness on same breast. Wasn't sure if  a lump as such so just kept an eye on it as only seen in clinic not long ago. Well beginning of December I felt it as a large hard lump. I panicked and managed to get a nurse's appointment who could see it without even touching it. Ive had to until yesterday for my scan at the Breast clinic. The Radiologist went over the area over and over not looking too happy. He then eventually went over to the other side and then back again to lump. He eventually said he thought it was a benign fibroadema or whatever you call it but needs to take a core biopsy to make sure. After that I was sent into another room with just a sofa in it and tissues/care packages etc. The consultant came in with a Macmillian nurse and told me it doesn't look outright suspicious but also it doesn't look normal and thers not alot else she can say. I asked that the scanner said it was a fibroadema and she said they don't have irregular edges like mine. I was then left with the macmillan nurse who told me I could ring if I needed advice.

Im not sure  what im.asking for her but just seems so odd Ive already been introduced to this nurse so they must think its cancer. Hoping someone going through the same.

Im not even 30 and have 2 very young children x

  • Hi [@Lavender90]‍

Ultimately the only way you will know is via the biopsy. Radiologists etc do have a very seasoned eye though. I was diagnosed with BC in August. It was caught via the ultrasound. The lady who carried it out said she wasn't happy with how it looked. It was in fact BC. I then had to have a breast MRI. Again, i was told there were 2 additional areas they weren't happy with. They biopsied them and they were in fact fibrodenomas so i have had both scenarios.

wishing you the best of luck. I found my lump in april but didn't go GP until July and mine is classed as treatable. Let us know how you get on x

I'm sorry that you are worried I hope all will work out ok for you .

my experience was at my ultrasound I was told it looked suspicious and it was confirmed a week later when my biopsy came back so I was sort of prepared for the news but I was hoping for a rainbow and that they were wrong .

but on the plus side that was last July and I'm now back to my normal life free of it all I have to come back here as I had so much help at that time and akways feel I need to share my experience with newbies or help if I can .

hood luck please don't worry in advance .

    love Lara x
