Thoughts please?!?

Well I thought that investigations were scary but selecting. A username not already in use for this post has been the most difficult thing so far!

on Christmas morning I found a lump in my armpit. I've been to clinic tonight and had mammogram and uss which showed abnormal breast tissue of appr 1 inch. The enlarged lymph gland in my armpit was aspirated and the breast lump biopsied. I've been referred for a full body CT. On reading guidelines, this is often doennto confirm staging or spread and isn't routine? Can anybody confirm if this is correct at all? My brains turned to mush as I didn't know I had a breast lump - the lump in my armpit that I was worrried about doesn't seem to be the worry......

thanks for reading

sorry to hear you went to the breast clinic and are worried about findings I had breast cancer in July 22 I'm fully recovered and living as if it never happened now but have to come back here to help as I could this place so comforting at my time .

Firstly my first appointment was a mammogram and biopsy I was told there and then it was suspicious.

But I did ask if it was suspicious I never felt a lump only a heaviness, I was told the following week when my biopsy came back I didn't get a mri

I hope that yours proves to be all ok

    Hi Lilal,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

Not everyone gets a CT scan or MRI, but quite a few people do need them. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 13 years. I have Mucinous breast cancer, which is one of the less invasive strains, but it doesn't always show up well on mammogram or ultrasound. This helps your care team to know exaclty where your lump is and what they will have to deal with. I needed both CT and MRI.

It is always a scary thought to think that you might have breast cancer. Not all lumps are cancerous, so here's hoping that all will still turn out ok. When are you due to get your biopsy results back?

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always hee for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
