ME/CFS possibly Lymphoma

Hi guys wonder if anyone can help , my daughter is 16 diagnosed with ME/CFS at age 13 previous to this she had glandular fever and from age 2 recurrent chest infections and has server  asthma , she had a soft lump come up on her forehead, she's had a biopsy and results are inconclusive, but has abnormal cells , the doctor said not 100% sure so having a meeting with other doctors next week  there could be 2 possibly results 1- a type of alopecia or  2- lymphoma. Naturally I looked up both and am swaying more to lymphoma due to the symptoms my daughter has.

questions
Has anyone been diagnosed with ME /CFS and later found it to be lymphoma??
do you always lose weight having lymphoma? My daughter hasn't!
does lymphoma cause mottled skin ?

sory for long post , thanks for taking to to read and reply

  • Hi EJK79,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I understand this must be causing some concerns and I hope it's not long to wait before you get the answers you need.

Of course the specialist will be best placed to advise, and especially after any relevant results, but if you would like to talk to someone in the meantime then you are welcome to give our nurses a call. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 (Monday-Friday, 9-5).

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi, I hope all has been well with your daughter, that she got some answers and recovered well from her issues and is enjoying life. I came to this post just now through a google search about my own health history. I have follicular lymphoma (and like your daughter, oddly, also severe asthma!) and over 30 years prior to the cancer diagnosis I was diagnosed with ME/CFS, aged around 13. I am open to the idea that the two are linked, whether my immunity was affected by whatever ME/CFS actually is, or whether both were more likely due to underlying dysfunction, or whether ME/CFS was a misdiagnosis and I was actually experiencing fatigue from the earliest stages of lymphoma (as my cancer is very slow growing and was very advanced at diagnosis). Of course they could both just be bad luck, but it seems fascinating to me and possibly important.
