Breast biopsy - time off waiting for results?

Hi everyone,

I had a biospy on a lump yesterday that isn't a cyst or abscess. I've had a breast infection for a couple of weeks so thought lump was caused by that. I went to clinic yesterday and found that the lump hadn't reduced in size so did a biopsy straight away. I've been off work for a week and supposed to go back on Monday. My job is pretty stressful and busy, I don't know how I'll feel or cope. Anyone else taken time off while waiting for results?

    HI Sheena,

    I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. Waiting to be seen at the breast clinic to get a diagnosis, is always a stressful time. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 13 years and I found that going to my work helped me to concentrate on other things. It was a relief to be able to take my mind off the lump for a while.

    I hope that all turns out well for you. Have you been told when your biopsy result will be back?

    sorry to hear that you are here , i found throughout my time last summer with operations and treatment is that working through was better for me kept me busy kept me in control .
