Scared of my cervix

A couple of weeks ago I had an abnormal bleeding after intercourse. I went to my gp, the physician had a look and she said that everything looks fine but, because I'm super scared and I was going back home for NYE I went to see a gynaecologist to confirm that. She did a smear test of my cervix, and a trans signal ultrasound, she wrote on the paper that I had ectropian moderate but never commented this during the visit, and I notice bleeding after the smear test, very light and pink but not during the test. I went to another gynaecologist the day after and he didn't see anything wrong, I'm super paranoid right now as I don't really know what to do, I've already had three transvaginal ultrasound..

  • Hello Greta2331

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some bleeding which has left you feeling very anxious.

It's positive to hear that both your GP and the two gynaecologists you've seen haven't had any cause for concern and that the smear and transvaginal ultrasound didn't raise any concerns either. You might find it reassuring to have read this NHS information leaflet about cervical ectropion which confirms that it is a common condition that's not linked to cervical cancer.

It's understandable that you're feeling anxious and I'd recommend talking with your GP about how you're feeling. Hopefully they will be able to give you some reassurance but in the meantime, the NHS website has some useful advice and tips about managing health anxiety

    Best wishes,
