Worrying symptoms but not getting referred for testing

I am really concerned . I have had several symptoms over last few months. Constant flu like symptoms, hacking cough, dizziness, feeling disoriented, back pain radiating into left shoulder and arm, loss of feeling in left side of face, muscle weakness, lumps in neck and throat area , abdominal pain, changes in my skin, lack of sleep, vomiting intermittently body temp randomly dropping, oxygen sats dipping , loss of bladder control, migraines , slurring voice , not being able to eat for days etc

im at my wits end been to A and E 2 times, called ambulance due to having 35.5 temp and feeling faint. Been to doctor surgery's nurse, GP twice.

This morning was the pinnacle I had a chest X-ray which was clear and full blood count which showed nothing abnormal either.

GP said it's anxiety and will not budge and won't refer me anywhere for investigation

I have existing depression and they are not taking into account all these major changes which have had a sudden onset

I have cerebral palsy too and feel so dehumanised.

I have even had severe pain, vomiting and wobbles in the local X-ray dept yesterday and people just walked on by :(

  • Hello Bullera

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some ongoing health problems at the moment. It's understandable that you feel worried and upset about this situation.

It's good to hear that the tests that you have had haven't given any immediate cause for concern although it obviously doesn't help to resolve the situation for you nor to improve your symptoms.

You mention that the GP is insistent that these symptoms are due to health anxiety and that they won't refer you for further investigation at this time. You've also said that you have existing depression. What support is your GP recommending for your mental health? If they've not suggested further support to help manage then do speak to them again.

If you feel that it may help then do talk to the GP surgery about getting a second opinion from another GP at the surgery.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our team of nurses you're most welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to listen and offer any advie and support they can.

I hope that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
