Upcoming results appointment

Hi,

my mum had biopsies and ultrasounds done on a lump and suspicious nodules on the 9th of nevemeber. She was then in the next week following on from that referred under the 2 week wait for MRI and CT scans among other tests.

it's finally been said that she has an appointment on the 4th of janurary to get the results with the hospital outpatient clinic.
with cancer should we not have heard by now if it is cancer? I'm still extremely worried but I'm thinking the time it's taken (which has been full of anxiety and crying) is a good sign.

thanks for any advice

    HI Ilovemymum,

This does seem to be a long wait for results, but some results can take longer than others. The wait is always a worrying time.

Sadly, the length of time we have to wait has no bearing on how good or bad the outcome is likely to be. Some hospitals are still under a lot of pressure with Covid or backlogs ,as a result of this and are way behind their usual time schedules.

I am glad to hear that your mum now has an appointment this week and I hope that all turns out well for her.

Please keep in touch and let us know how she gets on. We are always here for both of you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Ilovemymum24,

im so pleased you've finally got an appointment. Fingers crossed for you that it's good news.

I too have been waiting since mid November and have convinced myself everything must be OK as the wait has been so long.

I really do hope it's good news for your mum x
