Stinging or burning sensation in breast

Does anyone get this? Is this a symptom of breast cancer? Only in one breast. The one I have an ultrasound on in 10 days.

My mind is going into overdrive again which seems to happen in peaks and troughs!

  • Hi Natalie9289 I hope your symptoms will turn out to be something benign but it is so important to get yourself checked properly and check your breasts regularly. I didnt practice what im preaching here. My very first symptom was an occasional itch in my breast which I ignored as i didn't think it was anything serious. I had no rash or inflammation. A few months later I had a small bleed and found a v small lump. While i was very upset at the time Im very lucky that 've been diagnosed with early stage Breast cancer and my prognosis is very good. I hope that you will be ok but just make sure that you are. Best of luck.

    Hi Natalie,

It is unusual for pain to accompany breast cancer, although not impossible. Symptoms like this can occur at the time of your monthly cycle, so let's hope that there is a simpler solution.

Please keep in touch and let us know how your ultrasound goes. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi  just wondered how you got on with your ultrasound? I have this at the minute like an intense burning stabbing sensation that comes and goes. I also had an itch a few months but that seemed to go away but that was the same breast I’ve now got this pain

  • Hey,

So basically I have what they call lumpy breasts and unfortunately they are susceptible to hurting like a *** during the build up to my period.

I was told evening primrose helps. And it does to an extent. I am not free of pain each month, but it's not as bad.

Hope this helps. But always get checked out!

  • Thanks for your reply! So glad you got it checked and it’s nothing to worry about. Mine could be hormonal I’ve just never had this type of sensation before but I will keep an eye on it
