I was refered by my Doctor for suspected Bowel Cancer. Had an apointment with the consultant the following week. He said i needed a CT Scan for a virtual colonospy and also to look at my kidney and liver as i have unexplained flank pain. I had the scan on the 14th of December. Today i managed to chase the results through PALS as the radiolgy department was not aswering the phone, they told me my CT scan had not been reviewed yet and at the moment the are running behind and people who had scans in October had still not had the results. I understand the NHS is stretched but surely Cancer referals should be proitised. It is driving me mad with worry just need an answer one way or another.
Has anyone else had such a long delay in getting results, Surely the earlier they can diagnose the better the outcome.
