Hi. I've had an enlarged gland on one side of my neck for years now, but recently I've also had a bony mass that seems to be growing next to it. I went to the doctors about 3 weeks ago and had a blood test - everything was normal. However, my doctor still reffered me for an urgent scan, an ultrasound I'm having in 4 days. Since then, the bony mass next to my lymph node seems to have decreased in size, but the lymph node itself is larger, and I've started with a cough, and slight itching everytime I'm in bed. I have had a cold in my nose, so I am aware the cough could just be a part of the cold, but the itching and the lumps/swellings have me incredibly worried. I'm 18 and my parents have had to deal with my health anxiety for a while, and won't listen to my worries at all, simply writing it off as me worrying, even though I've had an urgent refferal. I'm terrified I have lymphoma - I have so many plans ahead of me and it's my worst nightmare to be terminally ill. Is there any way this could NOT be a worry? Or anyone who's had these exact symptoms (whether it's been lymphoma or not)? Anyone have any advice on how to keep calm before my scan/waiting for the results? I'm deeply distressed and it's ruining what little Christmas holiday I have.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum.
