Hello I am 56 years old and I don't know if I have gone through the menopause or not but I assume I have, no flushes or symptoms though. I had some scary news 2 days ago. I had to go for a hysteroscopy and while I was there. They said oh you came in 2018 and I said yes it was a similar thing, thickening of my womb lining. The doctor said did you ever get your results back and I said now you mention it I don't think I ever did. They said in 2018 they would phone me in 4 weeks but I chased via email 9 weeks afterwards and nobody got back to me or to my doctor ( I found an old email). She apologised and said they should have been checking on you every 6 months. So 4 years later, out of the blue I had a bleed, I had one in Janaury of this year too but did not do anything about it. This time because I am unable to have penetrable sex with my husband as I am in pain. I thought I'd better go and see about it. During the hysteroscopy, the doctor took some tissue but was unable to get through my cervix due to too much tissue!. So they are going to book me in and I will be anaesthetized so that they can do the biopsy properly. I am now of course very worried as a lot of time has passed. Reading up about cancer of the womb, bleeding and pain during sex are symptoms. I am now waiting to hear when I need to go into hospital. I would love to know how often you are bleeding, is it a lot or just now and again. As I say I bled in January then again in November for about 10 days but not heavy at all quite light.
