My poor mum started with a lung infection around 6/7weeks ago which failed to budge. She was prescribed antibiotics and later steriods which eventually cleared it up.

As soon as finishing the steriods she developed a urine infection and started having moderate to heavy bleeding(at least 10 years post menopausal) .

Bleeding lasted about a week.

Mum complained of being really sore down below.

She went to the doctors had am examination and they said they could feel a growth in her vagina - shes not sure which area they said, also they said the bleeding is likely coming from this growth as it looked inflamed and red. The first doctor mentioned cancer but the second although wouldn't rule cancer out did say it sort of felt like a cyst. Has anybody had any similar experiences? She's on the 2 week pathway now.

Can a cyst actually cause period like blood for a week?
