Lump in lower left stomach and pain

Hi all, I'm just looking for some advice, my partner (age 37) developed a lower left (pelvic area) lump/hard area about 5cm across around 3 weeks ago, she went to the doctors this week (saw a nurse practitioner) who felt it and has arranged an ultrasound at some point and also a blood test (over a week away) they are also testing CA125 in this blood test, I'm extremly concerned it's ovarian cancer as obviously that's what they're testing for. Just to add, she has pain as well with the lump/swelling she says it feels like ovulation pain which she has experienced most of her adult life, she has also had pins and needles in the front of her thigh for about a year but just put it down to over exercising (she's very active) just wondering if anyone else out there has experienced anything similar as my mind is in overdrive at the moment. Thank you

  • Hi Meg001,

I can understand this causing some concern and I know the uncertainty and waiting for further information is never easy.

It's good to hear that your partner has a referral - this will mean you should get the answers you need and hopefully without too much longer to wait. I know it's easier said than done but try not to assume anything at this point.

While you wait, try if you can to keep busy and focus on other things to help keep your mind off any worries. And if anyone here has similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi Meg001,

I hope all is ok for you and your partner!

I haven't been through this yet, but I felt a lump about a month ago on my lower left pelvic area too, and after a BC scare checked it again to find it still there and feeling slightly larger.

I have contacted my doctor to check it out but will be waiting a couple of weeks for the appointment, so plenty of time for me to worry!

    best wishes x
