I am a 31 year old female and recently have been getting upper abdominal stomach cramps & have constipation or the latter more frequently.
I thought it might have been a change in diet (and contributing to weight loss as im losing fat with training more in the gym) as I recently started a fitness programme from 1st Nov which ends on the 20th Dec. I had an intolerance test done to see if there was anything in particular food wise causing an issue but there doesn't seem to be a pattern with my stomach cramps/unusual bowel movements, especially as it seems to have been more frequent over the past couple of weeks. I contacted my doctor who requested a stool sample and I was told yesterday evening that my fit test was positive so would need a 2 week referral.
I'm trying to keep positive as due to my age they said cancer was unlikely and to do a little research but with it being the week before Christmas I'm worried about how long I'll be waiting. Especially as I've been so tired and when my stomach does cramp I don't feel like eating.
I'm currently also waiting on blood work, an ultrasound and xray for my hands to check for arthritis but from my research this is a symptom flare up of ulcerative colitis ?
I suffer with anxiety, particularly with my heath and it's playing on my mind. It's easier said than done when family & friends have told me not to stress about it and "it's probably nothing".
