2WW for urgent colposcopy

Hiya!

i just want some feedback and advice really!

Im 19, ive also had a baby 8 months back. Ive had bleeding with sex, pain and discomfort and irregular bleeding. I went to see the doctor where they checked my cervix, and it was quite bruised. They did me another appointment for 4 weeks. When she checked again, the doctor said it could be the pill until she looked at my cervix. Once she checked she asked me to sit down, 

Once she sat me down she said 'im not saying what i see looks like exactly like cancer however there is abnormalities and with your symptoms i want to send you for an urgent referal' First off, why would she be so blunt with it because now its left me worrying!! She double checked with a doctor to make sure i met the criteria and within an hour i got a text saying i was referred and i have my colposcopy on the 22nd December. 

Ive never had a smear as im too young, but i am worrying sick!

any feedback or advice would be appreciated, thank you <3 !!

    Hello, I completely understand why you are scared. I had an urgent referral and on the same day, within a few hours, my GP had sent off the referral. I was offered an appointment within two weeks too. I went for my colposcopy and a biopsy was taken. The results from the biopsy was that there was inflammation only and I need to have a smear in six months time. I just wanted to try and reassure you that not colposcopy's mean you have cancer, it can be a referral because there are abnormalities. If you have any questions about the colposcopy itself, then more than happy to answer as best I can based on my own experience

    does the colposcopy and biopsy hurt?

    No problem at all. I wouldn't say it hurt, just a small pinch when the biopsy was taken. The doctor who did it was accompanied with a nurse and she held my hand the whole way through. You will more than likely have a nurse with the consultant and it was honestly over and done with so quickly! I had some cramping pain and bleeding for a few days afterwards.
