Positive FIT test

Hello 

Is there anyone that could help me please I'm so scared I could have bowel cancer .

Since September I've been abit constipated and I've seen blood on and off on the outside of my poo . Over the months I've been getting lower abdominal pain as well with some back pain and occasional bloating and excess wind .

I had a colonoscopy in July 2020 which showed internal piles and a few diverticulitis pouches .

I had a FIT test come back which is positive 54 .

The day of the FIT test I didnt see any visible blood on my stools which I find it hard to think it could be piles or a tear of some sort as surely that would be on the outside of the stools ‍♀️

Please help !! My health anxiety is not good and its affecting everyone .

    Hello Crowther75, 

    I am so sorry you are feeling so anxious and that your FIT test came back positive. Try not to worry too much though as there are so many conditions that could cause a positive FIT test. It is also reassuring that your colonoscopy in 2020 just flagged internal piles and diverticulitis. 

    I hope that you will get to talk to your doctor soon about your FIT test results and that you find out more soon about what has been causing these symptoms.  

    Hopefully you will hear from others soon who have been in a similar situation and had similar FIT results and they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Thank you for replying . I'm wondering if since my last colonoscopy in 2020 that I could have bowel cancer now . Is it right that it starts from a polyp and can take tear to develop into cancer ?
