Swollen armpit lymph node

Hello,

im new to the sight and hoping for some reassurance! I have had a swollen lymph node in armpit for 5 months now, I got referred to the breast unit when I first found it. They did ultra sound and said it was a superficial lymph node and were happy. Since then it has got bigger (maybe because I'm constantly touching it) it's around 1cm in size and quite firm I've been back to my gp again today and she has put another referral in and wants it biopsied, which I am so pleased as I need to know for sure what it is.

any similar experiences would be great to read. I have no other symptoms at all.

Hi, I had exactly the same problem with ultrasound. I have swollen lymphnodes in my groin for around 3 months, had an ultrasound but pretty much did the ultrasound and told me to get dressed and everything was okay. No reassurance or anything. I wasn't happy so I went back to the doctor who has now referred me to Rapid diagnostic clinic as i've lost a significant amount of weight and still getting symptoms.
Awaiting to attend the clinic for tests and a biopsy.

Oh I really hope u get your referral through asap! I need answers as surely they can't just enlarge for no reason? Please keep me posted on how u go x

I completley agree and we all know our own bodies and no when something isn't right so you done the right thing with going with your gut. Hopefully your biopsy comes back all negative and you can have piece of mind then. Thank you, will let you know.
