Hello,
in Feb 2020 my smear test come back HPV positive and low cell changes (sorry I can't remember the correct terminology now) I went for a colposcopy and the dr was happy that there was no cell changes and a sample was taken to make sure which confirmed there was no cell changes. I was discharged and asked to return again in a years time for a routine smear.
In 2021 I went back and had another smear which showed HPV positive and no cell changes and was advised I would be called back in a year again, 2022 the same thing again no cell changes however still HPV positive! Reason for my post is I keep reading everywhere that 9/10 cases clear by their self within 2 years, Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone managed to get a negative HPV result after a positive?
This will be my 4th smear test soon approaching and Im really nervous about still having HPV I have since quit smoking by swapping to vapes however am now cutting down drastically to quit them too! I take vitamins and eat a healthy diet. If anyone can share any experience they have had with HPV it would be much appreciated :-) My anxiety is through the roof after reading statistics and not sure what would happen after another positive (4th time). Also I have read there are so many different types of HPV does anyone also know if during a smear it tests for all HPV or just the 2 high risk ones?
thank you in advance xx
