I have had unexplained persistent bleeding between periods for 3 weeks now. I have been on the combined pill for 14 years and have never had this issue before. On a visual exam, the GP identified a lesion on my cervix. Swabs tests were taken to rule out infection, which all came back negative. I had LLETZ treatment for CIN3 18 months ago and was put back on the standard 3 year screening programme.

The GP made an urgent referral to the hospital and I have since been told my appointment is booked for 4 months time. I have spoken to both the GP and the hospital who have told me there is nothing they can do and it's just NHS waiting times.  I was informed that an urgent referral isn't the same as a two week referral.  Is this correct? I may go mad worrying about this for 4 months!
