Blood marker results fine but scan still suspicious

Hello,

I have recently been under investigation after being in chronic pain which was firstly considered possible appendicitis or bowel problems. Anyway, after having an external ultrasound on the same day and then a vaginal ultrasound (with the big wond) I have an 8.5cm ovarian cyst coming from my right ovary which looks suspicious. My blood markers also have been reported fine. However, I have been put to have an MRI scan and referred to oncology and have an appointment a couple of days after.
The only certain info I have been told is that I will be having surgery to have it out but still not completely clear if it's malignant or benign.
In all, this has happened within the last 2 weeks and I can't seem to know what to make of it.
has anyone else had normal blood results but on the scans it shows 'suspicious' ?

fyi- I'm in my early 20's and have the implant in my arm. I'm curious if anyone else is in this position and what the process has been?

I'm finding I'm irregular passing stool, tired/fatigued often and feel absolutely bloated!!!

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi there,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It sounds like things have moved fairly quickly for you over the last couple of weeks which I'm sure has caused some worries and possibly confusion, but it's good to hear you've had some answers at least. I hope it's not too long to wait until your appointment and to get any results you need.

If others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll see your post and send a reply. You are also welcome to give our nurses a call if you'd like to talk anything through at all. You can reach them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday-Friday, 9-5).

    Wishing you all the best,
