Can you have normal blood results and still have cancer

Hi, I went to a gastroenterologist for something else for which I had a CT scan and was informed that from this scan they had found lesions in my spine and chest (ribs & sternum I think ) by this stage I had heard word cancer and not took rest in. I was referred to CUPS and then sent for 20+ blood tests and another CT Scan from neck to pelvis. Today I've had a call to say my bloods are all back normal just waiting on scan results as only had Saturday, they hoping to have them back end of week no later than Monday. What's thoughts on this being cancer or not with normal bloods I took as good but since looked and found where people have had normal blood results but still cancer. I just want to prepare myself

  • Hi

I was diagnosed with bowel cancer on the day of my colonoscopy. My bloods came back all good and my scan showed it hadnt spread. I was so relieved that it hadnt spread.

I know when I was told my bloids were clear the sister said that was a good sign.

I understand how you must be feeling though the wait is horrible and the worst part.

I hope you have good results and you have a puece of mind before xmas x

  • Hello,

I know we shouldn't but I googling this same question last night and there was no discussion about this.

I have recently been under investigation after being in chronic pain which was firstly considered possible appendicitis or bowel problems. Anyway, after having an external ultrasound on the same day and then a vaginal ultrasound (with the big wond) I have an 8.5cm ovarian cyst which looks suspicious. My blood markers also have been reported fine. However, I have been put to have an MRI scan and referred to oncology and have an appointment a couple of days after.
The only certain info I have been told is that I will be having surgery to have it out but still not completely clear if it's malignant or benign.
In all, this has happened within the last 2 weeks and I can't seem to know what to make of it.
