11cm pelvic cyst with raised ca125 and LDH

Hi I was referred to the surgical decision unit in September this year due to upper right abdo pain. Suspected gallstones and bloods showed no infection so I was sent home to wait for outpatient scan. I had abdo ultrasound end of October which showed an 11cm pelvic cyst. My GP arranged bloods whilst he referred me to gynae. Bloods showed raised ca125 but I do have endometriosis. I was seen by gynae mid November and referred for urgent CT and other bloods. I had my CT scan today and repeat ca125. In the meantime I received a letter indicating tumour marker LDH was raised.

Thd consultant secretary told me today that my CT report won't be back in time for this Wednesday's MDT so probably be discussed next week.

I am so worried as I lost my dad to lung cancer last year. I just want surgery as soon as possible as I have told them my family is complete and they told me keyhole not possible anyway due to size of cyst.

Been ongoing since September and now worried I will be left until the new year

  • My ca125 has just come back at 41 and I'm terrified I have ovarian cancer after too much googling. I do suffer with bloating but I have a private ultrasound tomorrow as I'm sending myself off the scale with worry.

I keep thinking what if it's bad news tomorrow.

no one has said what the increase's actually mean, is 41 early stages or advanced.

I have a son with special needs and terrified I'm going to die.

I really need some reassurance or next steps

  • Hi dainslie,

I'm currently going through something similar - ca125 at 75 and a mass felt during pelvic exam (ultrasound booked a week today) - just wondering how you got on?

Wishing you all the best xx

  • Hi Catherine,

I have a small cyst on my left ovary, the gynaecologist has redone my CA125 to see the results this time and then she wants another scan and go from there.

    I feel it's a waiting game

Wishing you all the very best with your next steps, it's just terrifying I know x

  • Hey,

Thanks for getting back to me - fingers crossed everything goes well for you - how are you feeling now you know the scan findings? I'm not nervous about the scan but the actual findings, trying to stay calm but it's terrifying waiting around!

Wishing you all the best, hope you can enjoy Christmas during this hard time xx
