Hi all - this is my first time posting but I have been reading your posts for quite a few weeks now. For about 5 onths I've had difficulty swallowing and breathing, get a sore throat and my voice keeps changing and is more hoarsey / raspey. My doctor referred me for a 6 week wait ultrasound, then changed it to urgent after me asking her to, then did it wrong - so after a month of constant chasing I had an ultrasound. The radiographer just said as I have hypothyroidism I have multiple nodules which is normal and brushed it off, saying they looked fine and to take levothyroxine (which I have since I was 16!)
He recommended my GP refers me to the specialist at the hospital, which they've said they will today. I'm not sure how long my wait would be? I have a copy of my ultrasound report which says multiple nodules, U2 and U3 in both lobes and a few enlarged but no suspicious lymph nodes. I really want a biopsy done, but I feel like my doctors keep telling me everything is fine and not to worry but it's not normal to be this uncomfortable breathing wise. Now I just have to sit and wait for my referral appointment to come through, whenever that will be. For reference - the largest nodule on one side was 19.5 x 14.5 x 17.3mm and on my right side of my thyroid, 22.5 x 16.5 x 19.5mm
I'm only 28, my blood work and thyroid levels were normal and I have never had visible nodules before. Has anyone gone through this? Feel like I'm the only one and frustrated at constantly waiting and chasing and having to literally show my GP print outs from Cancer Research UK, Macmillan and the NHS to back up my concern.
