Hi All,
I made a post here in March about some symptoms I had been experiencing since December 2021. To summarise I had a painless lymph node behind my right ear which had been swollen for some years but had began to change. I got it checked out and was given an urgent referral to ent. I was rudely dismissed by the surgeon (see previous post) and so left it completely.
Not long after this I noticed two lymph nodes in my trapezius region (supraclavicular fossae, I believe as was written in my notes) but was told they were likely muscle strain. I've had loads of bloods and throughout all of this my basophils have been above normal threshold and I have had mild eosinophilia. But have been told this is normal. In august I had an abnormal liver profile and was called back to repeat the test which has been repeated again since and is slowly returning to normal. The previous two (basophils and eosinophilia have been described to me as being normal) and the liver profile was a shock as I do not drink and am only 23 y/o.
Anyway, despite being dismissed about my supraclavicular lymph nodes, they have increased in size and I think the one side of my neck - my left trapezius looks to be slightly swollen.
I went back to the doctors in April, this time with two submandibular nodes, one very large. And got a biopsy. The doctor who referred me did so on the basis that she was concerned about the size of the node. But the consultant told me it was tiny. The first nurse felt it from the back, as I would do given I am examing my own neck and the second did so from in front of me. This seems to make a big difference
The biopsy was supposed to be a core needle, but they were only able to do fna. Everything is fine (AMAZINg) but the notes indicated that one of the nodes was 'a little heterogeneous').
I am home from uni now and am trying and failing to find a new doctors surgery in my area that will take me on as a patient. I really want to get this investigated further.
I hate to be a pain and I do truly appreciate all the help I have received but I know my own body.
I am convinced there is something wrong, not necessarily cancer and I shall hope it isn't. But I wish someone would take me a bit more seriously. Time and again I'm told it's an infection or to come back again. It has been almost a year! I have 7 raised nodes in my neck.
does anyone have any thoughts or advice? Thank you so much
