Found a lump below my underarm

Hi All,

Not too sure where to start. I found a lump below my right underarm a few days ago, fairly small in size, not painful, not too sure if it is mobile (although I feel that it isn't). I went to see my GP this morning, and she didn't really say too much, but referred me to a breast clinic. She said that she was able to feel another lump on the same breast, and some others on my other breast, but that my right breasts one was more prominent. I'm obviously very worried, and googling never helps as I'm ready very scary things. I'm 24, however I know that these things don't really have a particular age. Looking for some support and kindness at the moment, as it's such an anxiety inducing time period.

sending everyone going through a difficult time lots of support and kindness.

  • Hi ,

Try not to worry too much as I ve learnt on my cancer journey that there's no point worrying about the things you can t control. Otherwise you drive yourself mad. At your age the chances of it being anything sinister are very low . The good news is that you are being referred and should have your mind put at rest , 9 in 10 women who see breast care do not have cancer and probably even better statistics for your age. Keep smiling and positive xx

  • Hi Debbie,

thank you so much for your response. You're absolutely right, I'm just going to have to wait and see what happens. Your words are very reassuring and much appreciated. I wish you all the best on your journey, sending you lots of hugs and support. Thank you again.

  • Hi E x

I'm a little older than you, but totally understand your worries as it feels like the great unknown!  I was at the GP myself today and have found a lump (upper outer left breast) GP was lovely, but couldn't really give me any answers, I too have been referred to breast clinic, but for now it's a waiting game (I've always been impatient !).
My plan is to try and put it out my mind (as much as I can) and carry on with my Xmas plans. I'm trying to focus on the positives and to remember most of these things are not the big C. Keep positive and I hope all goes well for you xx

  • Hi T,

Thank you so much for your comment, our lumps seem to be in a fairly similar place. That sounds like a really good plan, I think distractions are needed more than ever. Sending you lots and lots of hugs and kind wishes, and I really hope everything goes smoothly. Do keep me updated and feel free to dm me if you need a chat xx
