Core biopsies benign, but they want to do excision biopsy

So, been today for results and i was surprised as I had to get undressed again.....

the surgeon and nurse both felt again. Seemed odd as they have ultrasounds, mammograms and core biopsies already.

theu said the code biopsies were benign but they want to remove it to get it under a microscope so be sure what it is.
No debate just he would be removing it on the 9th December (10 days time) - they didn't commit to christening with a name/variety I asked about phyllodes as it was mentioned on 1st letter to my along with Fibroadanoma to my Dr after 1st imaging.
surgeon just said let's get it under a microscope and then we know.

so 7:30am im booked to arrive.
I have 10days to try get more / rest of kids Christmas gifts done and wrapped as the nurse said I can't drive for 4wks after??

They said expect 3wks till results but I'm not holding my breath as it will be going into Christmas break....

Unless they see me before that and deem me fit or my insurance sanction it in writing...

Has any one else had similar ? With biopsy's then excision?

    Hi Eden,

It is normal for some people to have an excision biopsy, where the results of previous biopsies were not clear, or where the surgeon doesn't feel that his findings add up. I know that it's frustrating to have to wait longer for a result, but it shows that your surgeon is making sure, which must be reassuring.

This doesn't give you much time to get everything arranged for the family's Christmas, I know, but you're as well to get it done, without having to wait any longer to find out.

Here's hoping that this will be benign too. I shall be thinking of you on 9th december and hope that all goes well.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
