Lump and blood in urine

Hi everyone,

Its my first time posting on this chat.

So a few months ago, i noticed an armpit lump. I waited and around 5 weeks later i think it disapeared. Then fast forward around 2 months, i noticed another lump in my armpit next to the origional first one which had come bk. So this time i had two lumps. I rang GP who said they were pea sized but sent me for screening. They did an US and said nothing to worry about. A week later I found another new lump further up in my armpit.

I rang the GP immediately as i queried whether i had an infection. She said it wasnt an infection because i didnt have any pain.

I saw her yesterday and she took a urine sample from me which has blood visible to the eye and also blood not seen to the eye. She rang me late afternoon and as im having problems passing urine recently (not feeling like i fully unloaded or having urine incontinence) she was doing a two week urgent referral to urology for 'suspected kidney cancer'

Ive been worried out my head since then. I have very small kids with the youngest being only a few months old.

Can someone please let me know what symptoms you had if you have kidney cancer. Also can they pickup the cancer from lab urine test. Also i read online that distant lymph npdes can be affected. Did you have any lymph nodes in the armpit which were swollen.

I had an US a week ago in my armpit lymph nodes and they didnt say anything about cancer. If i have cancer and the lymph nodes are swollen would this have shown on the US of the lymph nodes.

Im so sorry for all the questions. Im just really worried as thia has all just happen so suddently n im going to be anxious until my appointment.

Thank you for taking the time to read this

  • Hi Iffy,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must all be worrying and I hope you're getting on OK.

We have some information on our website about kidney cancer, which may help answer some of your questions. Of course if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along to send some replies to your post.

If you feel you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses at all, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday-Friday, 9-5).

I hope that you don't have too long to wait until your appointment and until you get the information you need.

    Wishing you all the best,
