Advice needed please cervical cancer symptoms

Hi everyone, I find myself back here because Iv been so unwel this year and worried something has been missed.
So to narrow things down this past year Iv had phases of lower severe abdominal pain,
Back pain which is now constant
And this heavy pressure feeling that’s worse at night
Iv developed constant acid reflux
I also have a swollen lymph node on my neck
I have to have b12 injections every 3 months now as they wer so low. I’m constantly fatigued and my quality of life isn’t good. I paid for a private mri scan with contrast I was convinced they were going to find something but again nothing. I’m honestly so scared that whatever it is is getting worse as the pressure and back pain is now constant :(. Do I push for a colposcopy? The gynea won't do one for me
I know in my gut something isn't right.

Thanks for reading

  • Hi Tass

I know we've messaged before so I'm sorry to see you back without having anything resolved. Obviously it's impossible to say what might be wrong, but I'm still not sure why you might think it would be cervical cancer? It's a positive that an mri scan didn't show up anything, but maybe your doctor should be looking at the acid reflux and checking your lymphnode? I've not ever heard of acid reflux being a symptom of cervical cancer, and while back pain can be, it can also be caused by lots of other things which are not cancer. It wouldn't be the main symptom of cervical cancer by any means.

You seem to have fixated on cervical cancer, but if your doctor sees no evidence of this, there wouldn't be a reason to refer you urgently. But could you see a gynaecologist privately to put your mind at rest? xx

  • Hi Minska,

Aw thanks sm for replying I hope life is treating you well!

I keep thinking that it's cc as I have this horrible heaviness in my womb area more when I'm sitting down a lot , but every night its constant it's literally keeping me awake. And this dull lower back ache just doesn't go, and yesterday at work I was so fatigued it felt like my eyes was heavy. Iv read that the adeno type sometimes gets missed as it's higher up?
Haematology has checked the lymph node but they can't put a reason as to why it's there, and re the reflux I even had a endoscopy but that was clear also.

Yes I think I might do that and maybe bring my mri disk for them to have a look at xx

  • Hi Tass

I had adenocarcinoma and it can be missed on a smear as it's higher up in the cervical canal. But if you had any sort of tumour and had a pelvic mri scan it should pick it up if it's big enough-it doesn't pick up anything really tiny. It just doesn't sound like cervical cancer based on my experience both of having it and speaking to dozens and dozens of different women over the years.

Maybe you should just go private, see a gynaecologist and have fuller gynaecoligical investigations including your womb if that's where the heaviness is, if your gp is not going to refer you. Womb and cervical cancer are different things.

I hope you eventually get some answers and it's nothing serious. xx

  • Hi Minska sorry for the delayed reply,

It's so hard to explain the heaviness is inbetween the rectum and bladder area if that makes sence.

Yes definitely I have another appointment next month with nhs gynea and also with the urology department. If I still don't get answers then il definitely go to a private one. Just need to work and save up again.
Thanks again for your advice always appreciate it!
I hope you have a lovely weekend xx

  • Hi Tass

I'm on a delayed reply too unfortunately as I'm in the Canaries with very limited wifi! But it's very hot! I think you do need answers after all this time-it must be horrible to have symptoms and no diagnosis. That's worse than not knowing what's wrong. xx

  • Hi Minska,

Oh that sounds lovely I hope your having an amazing time and soaking up that sun!

I know it's nearly been a year like this now, will keep you updated once I get some answers hopefully xx

  • Hi I don't know if you will see this message but did you manage to get any answers? I have quite a lot of the same symptoms as you and am waiting for a smeer test and ultrasound scan x
