Worried about recurrence

Hi all, I am back again after a few years! I got on well after lumpectomy, radiotherapy and chemo for stage 2b hr positive breast cancer. I've had a clear mammogram in March but I've found a small lump in my underarm lymph, and have some tenderness in the same breast as I had surgery, Altho I always had a bit of tenderness post surgery, I am spiralling into all sorts of bad thoughts. I have an appointment on 7th of dec for an exam and possibly/probably biopsy. Wonder if anyone has been through this and has turned out ok.

  • Hello Cl4ir3,

Welcome back to our forum although I am sorry to hear it's been such a stressful time for you recently. It's great news that you got on so well with your cancer treatment and had a clear mammogram in March. It's normal after everything you've been through to have all these bad thoughts but try not get too anxious if you can until you find out more about what is causing this tenderness and what this small lump might be.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that your appointment goes well on the 7th and that the biopsy will tell you more about what it might be. The wait for answers can be really difficult and there are good tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for important news.

Others on the forum will have been through a similar experience before and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be fine. Keep us updated if you get a chance when you get your results.

    Best wishes,
