I'm sorry to hear that you have some health concerns at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about seeing your GP. However, they are the best people to assess your concerns and give you some reassurance. 

Give your Dr a call tomorrow and arrange your appointment. If you're feeling worried about going maybe there is a family member or friend that can accompany you. They can always wait outside whilst you're in with the Dr. 

I hope you're able to see someone soon. Let us know how you get on.

Many thanks for your reply, I was kinda hoping the lump would vanish, it's very silly though just feel pure awkard havibg to strip for doctor as I carry my weight on top half  

yup ive a different hosp apt tmro about a rare genetic condition so I might bring it up if they ask how I am or failing that I'll ring dreaded Gp lol

I know it can be embarrassing, but just remember doctors and nurses see various shapes, sizes and appearances - while it's a totally understandable and relateable reason to not want to go, please don't let it stop you getting any care you might need. When I had problems following the birth of my daughter, the doctor always gave me a sheet of tissue to place over my stomach and down below to protect some of my modesty! If you're worried, maybe you could take a scarf or something to place over you to help you feel less exposed? Or I wonder if you could ask to see a nurse? (I don't know why, but I always feel more comfortable with a nurse!)

When I rang the GP about my lump, he did actually refer me straight away without needing to look at it, but I imagine that depends on each GP surgery and where the lump is (mine's in my breast), other symptoms etc. If you think about it, at least one person is going to have a look at it, whether that's at your GP surgery or the clinic/hospital via a referral - if the GP doesn't think there's a risk of it being cancer, that could even save you a visit.

Hi Laura, hope alls well, yep I'm to ring the go tomorrow  morn @9am for an apt, so may get in my big girl pants and go !!

It's def embrassing though lesser of two evils I doubt!

Hi all, just an update, went to GP, she thinks maybe it's a breast abbess though not sure, gave me a weeks antibiotics and wants me back in 2 weeks, antibiotics finish this wed and lump still there and red, like no difference , I do have another week to wait though to see gp again ...
