Cervical cyst?

I discoverd a lump on my cervix about a month ago. I immediately went to the GP and she didn't seem too concerned and said it looked like a cyst, didn't look suspicious although said it was bluish and she didn't often see them there?

The GP said she would speak to the gynecology doctor and find out if i need to be seen for further investigation. So i did receive an appointment but it isn't until the 30th Jan!

I am now panicing that its cancer even though the doctor wasn't worried. I get random aches in the pelvis and back, which i'm not sure is related and feel quite bloated.

I had a normal smear in March and was negative for HPV and have only had sex once since then.

Also I should add I have had no unusual bleeding or discharge which i guess is positive.

I know nobody can diagnose me but wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?

  • Hello Vegmum,

You did the right thing by going to your GP and I can understand the wait for an appointment might make you worry, but it's good to hear that other tests you've had in the past have come back clear. You can contact the clinic to see if they can bring the appointment forward, but this might not be possible. If your symptoms change or get worse during this period, you should let your doctor know.

    I hope that helps,

  • Hi

Thanks for replying, I logged into the NHS referral site and was able to get an appointment for the 1st Dec so much better than the 30th Jan. Just need to try and control my anxiety until then.
